Leslie Buerk

Ms. Buerk's passion is for merging natural and built systems to support sustainable design. She has a strong understanding of natural systems, microclimates, thermal solar conditioning, water harvesting, and alternative building methods. A 1990 graduate of Kansas State University, she worked in Kansas, California, and Missouri before moving to New Mexico in 1995. She holds architectural registrations in New Mexico and California. Her experience is in all phases of architecture with an emphasis in programming, planning, and design. Ms. Buerk has worked on a wide range of building types and master plans, with specialized knowledge in exhibit design, schools, museums, visitor centers, and public safety training facilities. She is currently leading the Transitional Living Center for the Santa Fe Youth Shelter and Family Services.
